ABOUT
The Make Space Hackathon, organized PSI Pakistan in partnership with NIC Karachi, is a 48-hour-long online hackathon taking place from the 24th of June to the 26th of June. The goal of the Hackathon is to empower young people with a passion for impact and change in creating solutions to make family planning/birth spacing more accessible in Pakistan.

Do I have to be in expert in the field to take part in the Hackathon?No, you don’t. We’ll be organizing sessions to help you develop a strong foundation of knowledge before you take part in the Hackathon.

Is the hackathon only for teams and how many members should I have in my team?Yes, the Hackathon is for teams only. The minimum number of participants in each team are 2 and the maximum is 6.

I am based outside Karachi, can I take part in the Hackathon?Yes, you can. The hackathon and the preceding sessions and workshops will take place online.

Should I already have a solution built before taking part in the Hackathon?You can take part in the Hackathon with just an idea. As you go through the 48 hours of the Hackathon, you’ll be creating

Can I have a few examples of possible solutions?We are open to all ideas and a few of them could be the following: - Short animations/videos that can have characters who tackle birth spacing stigma. - Interactive virtual support network to de-stigmatize conversations around birth spacing by educating couples - A Youtube series where a couple discusses family planning/birth spacing. - A mobile app linking individuals to family planning/birth spacing information and resources. - A content driven campaign that educates young people about family planning/birth spacing.
